My name is Allison! I live in Olympia, Washington. I recently moved from New York City about a year and a half ago. I lived there for a little over ten years and I miss it very much. I do love plenty of things about the Pacific Northwest — I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I love the outdoors and climate of this area. I do miss the access to art and culture New York offered me for so long but would love to see what this area has to offer in that arena as well. I work at a record store and am very passionate about music and art. My interests are quite varied — I love jazz, soul, reggae and punk music. I also love a lot of old folk music and psychedelic music from the Middle East and Asia. I love so many types of art some of my favorites are Yayoi Kusama, Paul Klee, Dorothea Tanning, Max Ernst and many more. I also love reading such as Elizabeth Bishop, Thomas Pynchon, Susan Sontag, Philip K. Duck and Barry Gifford. My favorite movies are Valley of the Dolls, Mommie Dearest, Videodrome, Alphaville and La Strada. I do have plenty of guilty pleasures such as reality television and junk food. I love going out to eat. I love seafood and a fancy cocktail. I worked as a bartender and helped open many restaurants in New York so I would like to think I have a pretty good palette in that arena. I went to school for teaching and spent some time teaching ESL abroad in Vietnam. I love traveling and loved living in Southeast Asia and would love the opportunity to go back. I also love staying at home with my cat and drinking tea in my pajamas! I am hoping to meet someone who shares some of these interests and if you would like to take me out please send me a message!
